Walter M. Young IV, PT, DPT
Physical Therapist

Dr. Walter M. Young IV, PT, DPT is the quintessential journeyman, working his way from western Michigan, to a Landscape Architecture Degree from Ball State University, to a career as a Golf Course Architect in Southern Pines, NC, prior to finding his passion in coaching people to a healthier life through Olympic Lifting and Crossfit. From there he worked his way to Western Carolina University where he earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy Degree in 2016. Since graduating, Walter moved to Asheville, but began his career in Hickory, NC at Frye Regional Medical Center where he saw wide range of patients, from low back pain to Parkinson’s Disease to spinal cord injuries and amputees. This diversity has shown him the capabilities of the human body and spirit, shaping his philosophy that nobody is lost and everybody can change their mental and physical position in life if they are willing to push themselves to reach for it. Along with coaching people, Walter enjoys spending time with his wife Kristin, and dogs Bogie and Bitsy in various outdoor activities, including hiking, biking (mountain and road), renovating their house, and brewing beer and kombucha.
